Meals Help Needed

During the past five years, Mother Teresa Outreach has provided meals for our convalescing parishioners and new moms.  Our cooks have prepared these meals with love resulting in delicious, good home cooking.  Our parishioners are very appreciative of your help.  We are in dire need of new 'preparers.' You do not have to be a gourmet chef.   All we ask, when the need arises, is to make a meal or two as you would for your own family.  By doing this, you are bringing comfort and the smell of a home cooked meal to a family recuperating or trying to cope with the arrival of a newborn!  Depending on our response, you may only be called on once or twice a year.  We could really use your help!  Contact:  Janet Castelli

Veterans Day Mass!
We are planning to have a special Mass this November for Veterans Day. We need veterans' names and addresses for the invitation list for this special Sunday Mass.  Please email Judy Falcone to place veterans on this invitation list or if you know of any parish member who is presently serving in the armed forces.

Do You Need Assistance?

During these harsh economic times, many of us are experiencing unexpected circumstances that are causing concern, stress, and worry in our daily lives, such as asudden job loss, health issues, etc.  Mother Teresa Outreach is here to offer prayer and assistance to those in our local community (within the Franklin Regional School District) who are finding it difficult to make ends meet.

All needs are handled with strict confidentially.  As a parish family,
we are here to love and support each other.  Call 724-989-2881.

Thank You From

Neighbors in Need!

As Mother Teresa Outreach approaches its fifth year anniversary, we who serve the MTO Local Outreach still remain in awe of the support that Mother of Sorrows parishioners continue to give us both financially and prayerfully.  We wish there were some way we could show you the impact you are making on our local neighbors in need.

It would be wonderful if we could be like Marley’s ghost in Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol so you could see the differences you are making in so many lives.  As you traveled from home to home, you would see:

  • families that have not been evicted because we were there to help;
  • children who are safe and warm because their families received help with their utility bills;
  • phones that are working and water that has not been turned off;
  • cars that have been repaired allowing our friends to keep their jobs;
  • homeless families who are now settled in safe, permanent housing;
  • people in abusive situations were moved to places where they could remain safe;
  • individuals being supported through the GED process, training, or education endeavors to better prepare for future employment;
  • people able to get to job interviews, doctor’s appointments, or work after receiving gas cards;
  • clothing, furniture, appliances have been provided to families in need; and
  • monthly financial support of the Mother of Sorrows Food Pantry

To date we have helped 475 people and their families locally over these last five years.  None of whom would have received this much-needed assistance without your committed support. Your generosity has not only supplied the tangible, but what they most need – someone that cares about them personally.  Because you cared enough to give each month, they experienced God’s love touching them.  So thank you Mother of Sorrows parishioners! Thank you, Thank you! Thank you!
