Volunteer with the Westmoreland County Food Bank

Mother Teresa Food Bank efforts involve volunteering once a month, from 9 to 12, to repack the food items in smaller boxes. These are then distributed to the local food pantries, including the Mother of Sorrows Food Pantry.

With conditions as tough as they are right now, we applaud all those who are actively involved in collecting the much needed food for those in Westmoreland County.

The Westmoreland County Food Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in our county (www.wcfb.info ). It is located in Delmont and is the central repository for the food which is distributed to all the local food pantries such as the Food Pantry at Mother of Sorrows (also see Food Pantry page for more opportunities).

The Food Bank purchases as well as collects food from various contributors such as food drives conducted by churches, the Boy Scouts, Post employees, etc. These arrive in bulk or unorganized in large containers.
